When my sister saw the post about the "Moss & Memory" square last year, and that I was giving it to K., she said the nicest things about the piece, and that she wanted K. to leave it to her in his will. She is an artist with excellent specific tastes, so this was very high praise to me. So, for her birthday I set about to make something similar for her.
Of course, it took its own path. This time holding lots of memories of our times together- excitement when she was born (she's seven years younger), teaching baby her to kiss a cheek, blowing bubbles, the haunted house ride, games and toy race cars... (I went on about her here.) She is the one family member who knows who I am, and she is held close in my heart.
There are thirteen stones and stars, both of our favorite number. Mostly this piece is full of feelings for her- love and fondness.
It finally made its way to her yesterday, so I can share it now. (Her birthday is in February, her gift is always late. She's used to it.)
