Blue's blanket is bound and done. It's being saved for Christmas, unless the weather turns freakishly cold. So, here it is, a big blue thing, to cover my big Blue boy (6'4" and still counting).
The binding was wrapped around from the solid blue side, I think Jude called this a "cloth hug" long ago. Wavering unevenly all around the edges, but doing the job the best it can, just like his mama . . . a kind of ocean of love to surround it and him.
And now, the confession . . . A few of you may remember this post, from four, yes, four years ago. Well, I got side-tracked, and that quilt was never finished. Poor Blue, other blankets were dug out and thrown over his growing chilly self.
When I went looking for a backing for this quilt, the poor abandoned green top was found again. I threw it into the fading indigo pot to dim the Bright Greens he loved when he started this quilt, but most definitely does not care for now, SIX years later, and it became the other side.
And there's another confession to make, about the next blanket project, but that guilt & quilt will have to wait for another day.
