It started with Moon's full moon birthday. Then thoughts of this book. (It's out of print, but maybe libraries have copies?) It's one of my all time favorites to read aloud (Which I'm pretty good at, if I do say so...ask 15 yr. old Blue, who has heard this book many times, who was asked to straighten up the studio while the campers took a break and listened, and who quietly snuck onto the rug and didn't move until the story was over.) It's full of pirate roaring and gutteral laughing, and a peaceful but intent moon who awes the pirate with its bigness and beauty, capturing his heart in the end.
There's been playing with new kinds of cloth.
Drawing and reshaping with stitch, taught and inspired by many lessons from Jude in her classes over at Spritcloth.
There are spots that I really like.
There's more to do.
Just looking.
