jodi, artist, our art teacher, my friend, went to Peru!
Bringing back wonderful treasures.
The rusty yarn is hand-spun wool dyed with cochineal, and the brown is hand-spun alpaca. Both are from the Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco, a non-profit preserving the traditions of Peru.
The three friends are a sweet pincushion wrapped in an amazing bit of weaving.
Wonderful gifts to create with.
And tonight she's throwing a Peruvian Party to share more of her adventures. The invitation reads..."A Taste of Peru! Pisco Sours, Ceviche & More!...Come try your hand at shaking the pisco canister; or making a clay effigy to insure fertility around your home and garden; or making your own travel journal for YOUR next adventure!"
Good friends who travel...a great thing.
