I think that was the most fun I've had at a baseball game in a long time! Some stitching, being on beautiful Vashon Island, meeting some nice new parents (and sharing quirky stories), and just when we thought the mercy rule was going to be applied to the game, our team came from behind and scored eight runs in the last inning, pulling ahead by one.
Moon being one of them! They lost by one, but spirits were high.
While stopping at the local grocery store, we ran into people we know from singing group. They invited us to dinner at their little cabin on the water's edge. What a nice evening of sharing stories, finding out we know some of the same people from way back when, mussel soup, and chocolate chip cookies.
And five minutes of sunset on the ferry ride home . . .
I usually dread and grumble through new situations, especially those that involve talking to new people, but yesterday was a very good dose of something different that lightened the soul.
