On Wednesday more than sixty, of almost 400 students, were absent with the flu, along with seven teachers. Everyone scrambled to cover classrooms. It was actually a good day of having children mixed and working together in different ways.
By the time I left at noon, more had gone home, several were in the nurses office, more teachers were fading, another was possibly in labor, and the principal was on the phone with the health department.
School was closed (and thoroughly cleaned) yesterday and today. Hopefully, everyone will be well and back in their places on Monday morning.
Luckily, I seem to have made it through the incubation period (still knocking on wood), and had a nice quiet unexpected day off.
